Congratulations to the University of Adelaide’s Institute for International Trade on the successful webinar on 23 June for the launch of their report Building Trade Integration Dynamics in the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA). The report was commissioned by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to identify opportunities to deepen trade and investment in the Indian Ocean region. IIT Executive Director and South African Prof Peter Draper delivered the report, and was joined by Nola Watson from the NSW Business Chamber, James Wiblin from DFAT and Bryan Clarke from the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. South Africa and Australia were identified as gateways in the report and we look forward to further developing the economic relationship between these gateways.
